Our take

I've been gaming on this HP OMEN for a month, and it's a solid choice for the price. The 31.5-inch QHD display is crisp, and the 165Hz refresh rate makes fast games feel fluid. VA panel blacks are excellent with 3000:1 contrast, though viewing angles aren't as good as IPS. The curve is subtle but adds immersion. HDR is basic—don't expect true HDR performance. The stand is sturdy but only tilts. FreeSync works well. For $185, you get a large, high-refresh QHD monitor with good contrast. Just be aware of the VA smearing in dark transitions.
